19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player secured his initial title for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult season, winning just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in particular - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and finally splitting with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This marks his maiden trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface after that period of 2023.

Success also signifies the Russian has secured 21 titles at 21 various events.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my children together, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his last six finals, featuring in Halle in the past months.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had caused observers to doubt if his ability to perform at the top level was over.

However the player has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform positively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev came back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the final five games to take the lead.

Both players swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to create a decider.

Moutet rescued 4 early-game break points in a tight final set before the champion broke to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, Medvedev secured the title with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
