It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

It needed as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It's difficult for their batters to maintain a record if never given the chance.

In the end, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy getting a platform to produce her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

Whether this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Many contend the case for final game tension. Some might respond with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it has been a frustrating experience because it seemed my form was missing at all," said Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your fighting spirit take over and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the opening delivery and from that point Healy was on her way.

"A chance to go out there and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

Once she was removed Australia needed 66 more at run per delivery - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the belief to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if we do, we know we can succeed."

These statements will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this World Cup should hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this victory succeeding win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

During that phase they left last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she wished she had played with the discomfort.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have delayed consideration of ending her career, this tournament is likely to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as leader.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her last major obstacle.
